Hellooooo

I have been working on a layout over the weekend, I had to work hard at it mind you as my mojo was still missing, but I am so happy with the results but unfortunately I can't share it with you just yet!!!!:) I can share with you last week's Pencil Lines sketch though again I'm happy with this I did get inspiration from Shimelle Laine's layout 'Shaved Ice' for this layout.

So here we are with another week, it's much calmer than the past couple of weeks thank goodness!. We have finally found out which class Charlotte is in this year, not that she was worried, she said both of the teachers were nice, and I have to agree with her there. So we are on the afternoon shift at school until Friday when she goes 9-1.45. She is excited as she's staying for lunch, I think she just wants to use her new lunch bag!. Then on Monday she starts full time. On top of everything else last week I offered to be a helping hand at Charlotte's school, I completed all the necessary forms and thought it might take a while to hear back from them. The teacher called Monday afternoon to see if I could go in every Tuesday to listen to some of the children read who don't get read much to at home, that really saddens me so I hope I can be of some help to the teacher as well as the children. It just so happens that I know several of the children in that class so that will be nice, I'm kind of looking forward to it, at least it gives me something to focus on every week.

Have you seen the latest October Afternoon range out?, it's really scrummy. I think I may have to get the ould credit card out!! :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Has anyone seen my boots?

Well what a week it's been not sure whether I've been coming or going for most of it. The beginning of the week started of steady Charlotte was on the morning shift at school which is cool as I have been able to get some stuff done, sadly no scrapbooking, boo hoo. Tuesday we were expecting the plasterer in to remove the artex from the ceilings in the living room and bathroom, he phoned at 10am to say that he wouldn't be able to make it as his little boy was really poorly. So imagine the scene, we had taken almost everything plus furniture out of the bathroom and living room and piled it into other rooms, poor Charlotte's bedroom looked liked a scene of mass destruction. It couldn't be helped so we lived with it for the day. Wednesday came dropped Charlotte off at school, they hadn't mentioned anything about P.E kits and I didn't see the notice the day before about them needing it so I had to rush back home collect her things and run back down the school. As I return to the house 2 massive bags of logs were just being delivered and the plasterer was sitting outside waiting for me. The mess in the house was unbelievable, the guy was careful but how ever careful he tried to be plaster was still sploshed down the walls along with pva glue. I was in bed that night at 8.30pm absolutely exhausted. Thursday, poor Les was at home as he was suffering with a migraine, Charlotte had a friend round to play for a while and I caught up with some house hold chores!. Today has been much better, it's Les's Birthday and he booked the day off from work. Les took Charlotte to school whilst I decorated the house with banners and balloons, I then went into town to have my hair cut, collected balloons which I ordered at the weekend, came home picked Charlotte up from school and then went out for lunch which was lovely. Poor Charlotte has been dying to tell her dad about the presents and has done really well keeping the secret until this morning when she shouted out 'can I tell dad about the cake now' oh bless her!

I will leave you with this photo of Charlotte and her daddy blowing out the candles together. We opted for the 'dad' candle rather than individual ones as they wouldn't all fit on the cake. heehee ;)

Have a good weekend, mine is going to be a relaxing one I hope!!.

It's back.....

my mojo that is. This is my take on last weeks Pencil lines sketch, I really did enjoy playing around with the Basic Grey June bug papers they are really vibrant and the little dogs are just to cute for words.

Below is my layout which is in this months Scrapbook Inspirations magazine. My dad has complained so much about the photo of him, but I like it, they were having so much fun together and the love they have for one another is amazing to see. The rub-ons were rubbed onto acetate and then cut out, I then put different size 3d foam on the flowers and layered them up.
I can not believe that another week has passed and Charlotte has done her second week at school she has coped so well, I am so proud of her. I have had tears from her but none of the leg hugging that I was used to when she went to playschool, bless her she has just walked herself into the classroom without any fuss. Next Friday they will tell us who's class she will be in, I just hope she's put with some of the friends she has made over the past few weeks.
Anyway we have a busy weekend ahead of us. We have friends coming over for lunch on Sunday Matt is gonna bring his MG with him so he can take me for a spin in it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Lushness

I received my Scrapagogo kit today and omg it is lush. All the kits are lovely but I think this one has to go down as the best ever in my opinion. I love all the earthy colours which are perfect for this time of the year. There is so much in the kit with lovely tags, buttons, ribbon, metal charms, felt, sequins, oh and cork alphabet. I'm gonna have loads of fun with this kit this month.

Not much else has been happening, just trying to catch up with everything at home.

TTFN.

Eureka

What a busy old time of it I've had over the past few days. The weekend was good though as on Saturday Charlotte and I went to Stratford for the morning to do some shopping for a few bits we couldn't get in town. We had to go to the park and ride as Charlotte likes sitting on the back seat of the bus, this all stems from my mum and dad cos they have bus passes now so they can travel for free, luckily I only have to pay for me as Charlotte is under 5. Sunday was pretty much the same we done all the drab things like going to recycling centre and food shopping. In the afternoon Fi came round with the kiddies and we went to our local pub which has an outside play area for the kids to play on, it's really good as it's all enclosed so none of them can wander off.

Yesterday has been a little hectic with the guys coming back to finish of installing the wood burner, and also got connected to Sky TV as we got an excellent deal with them. I'm so happy with the burner it looks great and I'm so looking forward to being warm this winter! All we have to do now is agree on some colours, decide on some carpet oh and get rid of the awful artex on the ceiling which will be our next job.

Charlotte was back at school Monday, but started with the other reception teacher in the afternoon. It was only 1-3pm so I didn't get much time, to be honest I didn't even bother to take my coat off!
Anyway I'm just finishing off my pencil line sketch this week, my mojo hasn't really returned but I think I can be excused as so much has been happening over the past week.
Will post my layout really soon, look out for my layout in Scrapbook Inspirations this month, it's in the readers gallery? Let me know what you think.

Thank goodness it's Friday!!

I thought I would share with you a layout I managed to create this week, naturally it's a photo of Charlotte on her first day at school. The layout isn't what I hoped for at all, but I do quite like and I'm fairly happy with it. The papers I used were from Imaginisce (Teachers Pet line) which were perfect, I purchased them a while ago and was saving them for when she started school. Not a particular good photo as you can't see all the details especially on the little apples they have smiley faces on them!. I have been naughty this week and ordered some new Cosmo Cricket papers, I have been eyeing them up since last month and finally caved in and ordered them, so I still have those to play with.

I had a surprise phone call yesterday morning from The Heat Store who we are buying our wood burner from to say they could come and start work today (Friday). So this is what they have done today, bearing in mind what it looked like before, they have completely opened the fireplace out, laid the granite (which is lovely I'm so glad hubs persuaded us to go for the polished rather than the riven).

I found this photo on my old camera that Charlotte uses now and again, that's why it's abit wonky!. It really was ugly, we think the person who put this in got fed up, look at the right hand side of the fireplace and you will see what I mean.

Les took the 'beast' out and made a very good job indeed.

And, this is what they have done today.

Looking forward to Monday when they come back and install the burner.

Have a good weekend.

Anyone seen my mojo?

Not much is happening in the way of scrapping at the moment, I seemed to have lost my mojo a little. Les is away at the moment which is always hard and we both miss him terribly. You would have thought having evenings on my own I would be able to sit and scrap, but all I want to do is have a long hot soak in the tub and then get to bed!. This week has been very emotional with Charlotte starting school as well as catching up with the house type stuff, although next week isn't looking much better either!

So yesterday I go to collect Charlotte from school and I'm greeted with her crying, the teacher had a word and said that she had fallen over at playtime and had grazed her knees. Oh bless her she was feeling really sorry for herself, but seemed okay once I rubbed some 'magic' cream on them (magic cream to you and me is germolene). Today she now has two big purple bruises, now I know this is meant to happen, I was just a little surprised it happened on the second day.

Bye for now.

Christmas in September?

Did I just mention the 'C' word?? Yes, I know Christmas in September isn't quite right, but I just fancied doing something a little bit different for a change. We don't just have to scrap Christmas photos in December do we? I love this picture of me and Charlotte together. Her Birthday falls 9 days before Christmas Day so we were getting ready to go to her party at the Wacky Warehouse. Last year holds many memories as Les got made redundant in November and things were hard as well as financially difficult, but we still celebrated Charlotte's special day and Father Christmas still came!. I'm so grateful that everything turned out okay and that the company was bought out, and re-named, and is still going really well today.

Well yesterday went extremely well for Charlotte, I collected her at 12 o'clock and I was a little nervous of how she was going to be, but she came running over to me talking non stop about her morning. This morning she was fine had waffle and strawberries for breakfast which didn't hang around for long, got dressed and off we went again. The bell rang in the playground and she turned to me and said 'mummy, can you wipe the tears from my eyes'. She wasn't so upset and walked into the classroom ok. So yet again I have the morning to myself and am feeling a little lost if I'm honest, but I'm sure we will get used to the changes. I am rather grateful that she is only going part-time as it does give you time to adjust to this big change in our lives.

Looks quite the little lady doesn't she?

Thanks for stopping by.

Big School

So this morning went smoother than I thought it was going to. Charlotte got up had her breakfast, got dressed, and then we were out of the door walking to school, she seemed quite happy which was a huge relief. Anyone that knows Charlotte knows that it takes her time to get used to new environments and people that she hasn't meet before. She looked so grown up in her new school uniform, I can't believe my baby has started school. It doesn't seem like 5 minutes ago I was leaving work to have her, time really does fly.

Bless her, she would insist on having her photo taken with her new school bag, it's nearly as big as her.

I am collecting her at 12 o'clock today so I will post later and tell you how she got on.
See ya.

Quickie post

Just a very quick post tonight. Here is the card I made for my friend who has just moved house. Really enjoy making the odd card now, the papers and rub-ons are from Heidi Grace.

I'm really hoping that it won't be too much longer before we can have our wood burner fitted, the temperature really seems to have dropped over the past few days. Apparently the burner has been despatched from the manufacturers and the granite should be in next Thursday. I will call them on Friday to hopefully make a date to come and install. Looking forward to cosying up on the sofa drinking hot chocolate. yum.
Anyway I'm starting to feel really nervous for poor Charlotte who starts school on Monday. She has been acting a little funny today, she keeps wanting hugs and tells me that she loves me all the time (which is lovely) oh bless her my heart is aching for her. At least she is only starting part-time to begin with.
Anyway I will post a photo of her on Monday in her new school uniform.
Have a great weekend.

Layouts

August's Scrapagogo kit had this lovely paper from Dream Street Papers and it immediately shouted notice board to me, I based it on my own board hanging on my kitchen wall. I have to admit the one in the kitchen is alot more hectic than the layout, but I didn't want too much to distract against the lovely photos of Charlotte on the beach at Great Yarmouth. This isn't a terribly good photo as I had to take it indoors last night as it was raining but you get the idea.

The layout below is for August's GoGo Academy which SJ has been running. At first I wasn't sure whether to join in, but after seeing what people had achieved I thought I would have a go, and I'm really pleased with the results. The page was divided up into three sections, the first week was what do you do when it's raining outside, the second week was what do you like to do when you get some 'me' time and the third week was what do you do for a day out.

Will post again soon with a card I have made for a friend who has just moved house.

See ya.

Blushing bride

We had a lovely day yesterday sharing Gemma and Simon's 'big' day with them. They got married at Dumbleton church with the reception being held at the hall afterwards, the grounds were fantastic with gardens, lawns and even a lake to have there pictures taken by. I didn't take to many photos as I didn't take my big camera with me, I got very frustrated with the time delay on my small Nikon Cool pix I don't know how I ever managed before without my Nikon D60.

Not a terribly good photo and it wasn't quite what I was hoping for but it will do.

Right I'm off to bed.
See ya.
