I won

is the title that I have chosen for last weeks Pencil Lines sketch. It is of Charlotte on Formby beach running to the flag pole shouting 'I won I won'. I used some old October Afternoon papers, I still love that range.

It has been a leisurely day today, well if you could call walking in the Malvern hills this morning, it certainly woke me up. It was a little windy up there but the views were fantastic. Charlotte seemed to enjoy herself walking off in front with Daddy whilst I was lagging behind gasping for breath. Hubby told me it was fairly flat, it certainly wasn't the bit we were walking up, he lies like a cheap watch!. Anyway it blew away the cobwebs and we all went home with rosy cheeks.

The last photo of the day is of the two Everton supporters I live with. A last minute win against Wigan which they needed badly.

See ya.

I'm home again

from having nearly 2 weeks at Mum and Dad's and feel very refreshed and relaxed. Les took yesterday off work so we could have a long weekend together we met him nice and early on the A14, said our goodbyes to Mum and Dad and headed off to IKEA. I was very good I only got what I needed had some lunch and then came home. I do have to say a massive thank you to my Mum and Dad they have been brilliant to us over the past couple of weeks, especially looking after and playing with Charlotte I know she has had lots of fun with you. You know it's really appreciated.

As promised from earlier in the week, below is my layout which I took part in for the sketch challenge in Scrapbook Inspirations this month.

Whilst we have been away Les has been busy taking out our fireplace (which was horrendously ugly) getting it ready for our new burner to be installed in a couple of weeks time. I really can't wait as this house really isn't the warmest. If I'm being completely honest I was a little concerned about Les tackling this job as he is not DIY minded at all, but I came home to this and I think he has made a pretty good job and there was no mess at all, so I was very impressed!.

Not much else happening really, except for we are going to our next door neighbours wedding on Monday, I love a good wedding and they are a really lovely couple so I'm dead pleased for them.

Anyway I will leave you with the layout I made at Mum's last week, the picture quality isn't brilliant as it was taken last night. I'm pleased how it's turned out, what do you think?

Thanks as always for stopping by.

So busy

We have had a busy old time over the past week and it's been great. I have so enjoyed just chilling out without worrying about housework and general chores, I have caught up with family members as well as seeing my best friend Nat.

On Thursday we went to Soham to visit Capture the Magic, I just love that shop it is massive. Spent a few pennies (honestly hubby I did). We then drove onto Ely, I love this place and it will always be special for me and Les as it's where we set up home together, we only stayed for 6 months before heading to Hastings, but it holds lots of special memories. It was a little windy as you can tell from the picture! (My mum will love me for posting this on here!)

So on Saturday hubby came down to spend the day with us, we went to Saffron Walden for lunch before heading off to Audley End for our annual trip on the little train there. I have been going to the train since I was small and I'm now taking my little girl. The train takes you about a 1 1/2 miles through woodland, but the cutest thing is they hide cuddly toys in the trees and it's great fun spotting them. Charlotte loves it, especially the tunnels, they seem to get longer each year. In the evening we left Charlotte with Nanny and Grandad and went over to see Nat and Rob in Cambridge, they have just bought there first home a couple of months back and are very busy re-decorating it. They are doing a fantastic job as it really does need some tlc, the previous owner had lived there since it was built, so you can imagine that the decoration was a little dated!!.

I haven't done much in the way of scrapping, although I have made a layout using this months Scrapagogo kit. I have taken part in one of there challenges were you had to do some stitching on your layout. I tend to do my stitching by hand as I'm not that confident on using my sewing machine yet, I find it quite relaxing anyway and like the results. The photos are of when we went to visit Joan and Pete and went to Betty's tea rooms in Ilkley.

Go grab yourselves a copy of Scrapbook Inspirations. I'm on page 42 were I took part in the sketch challenge. What do you think? I will post a bigger picture of the layout when I return home on Friday.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

Well here we are at mum's having a relaxing time and enjoying the sunshine:) We had a lovely day yesterday as we went to Great Yarmouth for the day. I have spent many a day out there since I was a little girl and I still love going especially having there chips and peas on the market they taste so different to your bog standard chippy. Nothing else has changed much there since I was a child which I think is nice. Charlotte enjoyed playing on the beach and having a splash in the sea, it was abit chilly but it was lovely to see her carefree and enjoying herself. Here's my little cherub posing for a picture, her hat makes me laugh and those cheeks I just want to pinch them! lol

As for scrapping I have done very little, although I have started to play around with my new Scrapagogo kit which is lush this month. Whilst visiting Joan and Pete in Leeds, we took a trip to Ilkley which has a Betty's tea rooms which I love, the waitresses wearing traditional long black skirts with white pinnies it has real feeling of days gone by which I love, I just wish my nan was still a live to have shared it with as she would have loved to have had tea for two with warm scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. (Have to change the subject now as my mouth is watering!) So with the Collage Press Sweet Shoppe papers in this months kit it works perfectly.

I have made a card using the 7Gpsies papers from BeeCrafty which I'm quite pleased with (considering I'm not a card maker), the little frames I bought from Fairymoon craft shop close to where mum lives, cute aren't they.

See you soon.

Home is where the heart is

It's true home is really where the heart is. For this weeks Pencil lines sketch I used My little shoebox papers My Neighbour range. I used a picture which has been waiting to be scrapped since last year when we had snow in April. I love our little home it's small but has great character to it. Everyone that lives in the cottages are really friendly and we all take in parcels for one another, as well as looking after each others pets when we are away it really has a lovely neighbourly spirit about it which I think is very rare now a days.

I'm getting ready to go to Mum and Dad's tomorrow. I have packed most of my scrapbooking stuff that I think I will need, but as I said previously I'm likely to want something that I haven't packed, anyway I think a little trip to Capture the Magic in Soham is on the agenda which is always good fun (not so much fun for poor dad who sits in the car and waits for us!).

Anyway I think we are off for a walk now whilst the weather is good.

Bye

Less is more

A very quick post tonight as not much to share at the moment. This is last weeks Pencil Lines Sketch as I'm playing catch up from last week. Although the layout isn't the best piece of work I have done, it's growing on me. I love the Sassafras Lass papers and I always buy them as they are so bright and funky, but I do seem to struggle with them, definitely less is more when using the papers.

Our next door neighbours are getting married in a couple of weeks and thought I would have a go at making them a card, now I'm really not a card maker so be gentle with me!. lol. The horse shoe is a gorgeous ribbon slide which I bought from BeeCrafty, it's very pretty.
I'm off to my parents for a couple of weeks on Sunday so I'm starting to think about what I'm going to take with me in the way of scrapbooking stuff, the thing is what I do take I won't need and whatever I don't take I will need. Oh well mum's a card maker and has lots of bits of pieces I will just have to raid her stash :) My Scrapagogo kit came this morning and as usual it is scrummy I'm really looking forward to playing with that. I have some great pictures from last week which will complement the kit lovely.

I will leave you with just two photos for now.

See you.

It's amazing what you can do........

with a paper plate!. Charlotte and I have had a lovely afternoon making sunflowers out of paper plates. We saw them making them on Green Balloon Club on Cbeebies only ours don't look quite like there's as we didn't have any black tissue paper for the seeds in the middle. We had every other colour bar black so we had to improvise a little. I thought we could put a face on them instead, and Charlotte was happy with that idea. So here they, guess which one is mine? ;)
I bought some air drying clay when we were in town today, so it's making things with that tomorrow, wish me luck! lol

Before I go I just want to share a really sneaky peek of a layout I have done for BeeCrafty which I used there 7Gypsies papers and metal embellishments. I can't reveal it completely as I haven't shown Julie at BeeCrafty yet. Check out there blog as they are showing more of my work on there website. www.beecrafty.co.uk
Anyway it's getting late, my bed is starting to call.

I'm back.......

from having a few days in Southport and then on to see my Sister-in-law in Leeds. We so needed the time away and I feel awesome now for having a break. The weather was lovely, blue skies most days and plenty of sun. We love Southport, my hubs is originally from Liverpool and spent alot of his childhood along the Northwest coast of the country. We started out on Tuesday morning (in the rain) heading towards Formby point to the sand dunes to have our picnic. The weather wasn't great a little windy but we sat eating our picnic watching the blue skies starting to appear, we walked down to the sea through the sand dunes. The last time we done this walk I was 6 months pregnant and thought I was going to pass out on the way back with exhaustion! Charlotte made a couple of sand castles, I took a few photos to show Joan (SIL) to see how much it had changed. We then headed to Southport to check in at our hotel. Wednesday we took a trip into Liverpool we couldn't believe the cost of the train fare it was so cheap, anyway we headed off after breakfast to have a full day there. We found the Everton shop as my hubs is an avid supporter and wanted to buy Charlotte her first football shirt, much to my dad's annoyance as he would rather her have a Blackpool one!! ;) Once that was sorted we walked down to the docklands as we wanted to visit some of the free museums including the Tate Modern. Things are changing big time in Liverpool and it's really exciting to see how it's progressing. The shops there are amazing and I think I would still be there working my way around, if it wasn't for my husband dragging me away.

Thursday we drove over to Leeds to visit Joan and Pete, it's always lovely to go and see them and catch up, it almost feels like I'm going home as they make us feel so welcome and the homemade food is lovely, thanks Joan. Joan is a very talented artist who is exhibiting some of her work in Ilkley this weekend take a look at her website http://www.abrushwithnature.co.uk/ and have a look at what she does.

It was so nice not to worry about mobile phones and computers and that means I have done no scrapbooking, so hopefully this week I can catch up on a few things.

This photo melts my heart isn't she beautiful?.

Anyway I think that's enough from me, I will post some layouts later this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ilkley Moor Baht'at

Just a quick post today as I haven't got much to share. However, I had a really good day yesterday at the Bromsgrove crop, the ladies there are really friendly and you always get a good laugh, plus Cleo from Bellaboo brought her shop along so a little light shopping just had to be done! haha. Only managed to do one layout, but I'm very pleased with the finished results. This was for Scrapagogo academy. This month you had to create a layout inspired by outdoor photos. The photo of Charlotte was taken on Illkley Moor, Yorkshire we had just got to the top when she found a rock to rest her little legs on. The views up there were amazing, abit chilly and very windy but well worth a walk. I can't believe that this was taken a year ago, Charlotte has changed so much.
Thanks for stopping by.
