Thank goodness it's Friday!!

I thought I would share with you a layout I managed to create this week, naturally it's a photo of Charlotte on her first day at school. The layout isn't what I hoped for at all, but I do quite like and I'm fairly happy with it. The papers I used were from Imaginisce (Teachers Pet line) which were perfect, I purchased them a while ago and was saving them for when she started school. Not a particular good photo as you can't see all the details especially on the little apples they have smiley faces on them!. I have been naughty this week and ordered some new Cosmo Cricket papers, I have been eyeing them up since last month and finally caved in and ordered them, so I still have those to play with.

I had a surprise phone call yesterday morning from The Heat Store who we are buying our wood burner from to say they could come and start work today (Friday). So this is what they have done today, bearing in mind what it looked like before, they have completely opened the fireplace out, laid the granite (which is lovely I'm so glad hubs persuaded us to go for the polished rather than the riven).

I found this photo on my old camera that Charlotte uses now and again, that's why it's abit wonky!. It really was ugly, we think the person who put this in got fed up, look at the right hand side of the fireplace and you will see what I mean.

Les took the 'beast' out and made a very good job indeed.

And, this is what they have done today.

Looking forward to Monday when they come back and install the burner.

Have a good weekend.

Anyone seen my mojo?

Not much is happening in the way of scrapping at the moment, I seemed to have lost my mojo a little. Les is away at the moment which is always hard and we both miss him terribly. You would have thought having evenings on my own I would be able to sit and scrap, but all I want to do is have a long hot soak in the tub and then get to bed!. This week has been very emotional with Charlotte starting school as well as catching up with the house type stuff, although next week isn't looking much better either!

So yesterday I go to collect Charlotte from school and I'm greeted with her crying, the teacher had a word and said that she had fallen over at playtime and had grazed her knees. Oh bless her she was feeling really sorry for herself, but seemed okay once I rubbed some 'magic' cream on them (magic cream to you and me is germolene). Today she now has two big purple bruises, now I know this is meant to happen, I was just a little surprised it happened on the second day.

Bye for now.

Christmas in September?

Did I just mention the 'C' word?? Yes, I know Christmas in September isn't quite right, but I just fancied doing something a little bit different for a change. We don't just have to scrap Christmas photos in December do we? I love this picture of me and Charlotte together. Her Birthday falls 9 days before Christmas Day so we were getting ready to go to her party at the Wacky Warehouse. Last year holds many memories as Les got made redundant in November and things were hard as well as financially difficult, but we still celebrated Charlotte's special day and Father Christmas still came!. I'm so grateful that everything turned out okay and that the company was bought out, and re-named, and is still going really well today.

Well yesterday went extremely well for Charlotte, I collected her at 12 o'clock and I was a little nervous of how she was going to be, but she came running over to me talking non stop about her morning. This morning she was fine had waffle and strawberries for breakfast which didn't hang around for long, got dressed and off we went again. The bell rang in the playground and she turned to me and said 'mummy, can you wipe the tears from my eyes'. She wasn't so upset and walked into the classroom ok. So yet again I have the morning to myself and am feeling a little lost if I'm honest, but I'm sure we will get used to the changes. I am rather grateful that she is only going part-time as it does give you time to adjust to this big change in our lives.

Looks quite the little lady doesn't she?

Thanks for stopping by.

Big School

So this morning went smoother than I thought it was going to. Charlotte got up had her breakfast, got dressed, and then we were out of the door walking to school, she seemed quite happy which was a huge relief. Anyone that knows Charlotte knows that it takes her time to get used to new environments and people that she hasn't meet before. She looked so grown up in her new school uniform, I can't believe my baby has started school. It doesn't seem like 5 minutes ago I was leaving work to have her, time really does fly.

Bless her, she would insist on having her photo taken with her new school bag, it's nearly as big as her.

I am collecting her at 12 o'clock today so I will post later and tell you how she got on.
See ya.

Quickie post

Just a very quick post tonight. Here is the card I made for my friend who has just moved house. Really enjoy making the odd card now, the papers and rub-ons are from Heidi Grace.

I'm really hoping that it won't be too much longer before we can have our wood burner fitted, the temperature really seems to have dropped over the past few days. Apparently the burner has been despatched from the manufacturers and the granite should be in next Thursday. I will call them on Friday to hopefully make a date to come and install. Looking forward to cosying up on the sofa drinking hot chocolate. yum.
Anyway I'm starting to feel really nervous for poor Charlotte who starts school on Monday. She has been acting a little funny today, she keeps wanting hugs and tells me that she loves me all the time (which is lovely) oh bless her my heart is aching for her. At least she is only starting part-time to begin with.
Anyway I will post a photo of her on Monday in her new school uniform.
Have a great weekend.

Layouts

August's Scrapagogo kit had this lovely paper from Dream Street Papers and it immediately shouted notice board to me, I based it on my own board hanging on my kitchen wall. I have to admit the one in the kitchen is alot more hectic than the layout, but I didn't want too much to distract against the lovely photos of Charlotte on the beach at Great Yarmouth. This isn't a terribly good photo as I had to take it indoors last night as it was raining but you get the idea.

The layout below is for August's GoGo Academy which SJ has been running. At first I wasn't sure whether to join in, but after seeing what people had achieved I thought I would have a go, and I'm really pleased with the results. The page was divided up into three sections, the first week was what do you do when it's raining outside, the second week was what do you like to do when you get some 'me' time and the third week was what do you do for a day out.

Will post again soon with a card I have made for a friend who has just moved house.

See ya.

Blushing bride

We had a lovely day yesterday sharing Gemma and Simon's 'big' day with them. They got married at Dumbleton church with the reception being held at the hall afterwards, the grounds were fantastic with gardens, lawns and even a lake to have there pictures taken by. I didn't take to many photos as I didn't take my big camera with me, I got very frustrated with the time delay on my small Nikon Cool pix I don't know how I ever managed before without my Nikon D60.

Not a terribly good photo and it wasn't quite what I was hoping for but it will do.

Right I'm off to bed.
See ya.
