It's finished...

my Christmas journal is done and I'm so pleased that I have managed to complete it. Ok some of the pages are a bit samey but I'm just so chuffed that I have completed it. The journal tells a story about past and present Christmases. As you can see I'm loving tags at the minute, they are so versatile, the one below I added journaling to the back.

I haven't done any 12x12 scrapbooking for weeks now and to be honest it feels a little daunting. I have loads of photos and stash so that's not the problem but I feel like what's the point of this crazy hobby. Afterall I create a page, then put into a box waiting for it to go into an album for it to sit (at the moment) at the back of my wardrobe taking up precious space. Oh I don't know maybe I'm just having a funny five minutes (as my Mother would say).

I was lucky enough to get a new lense for my camera over Christmas and I have been trying it out. I have a long way to go, and I can't wait for the better weather so I can try some shots outside. Getting the right lighting inside can be so difficult. Anyway here are a few photos, of my willing model.

Just love the eyes in this shot.

This one is slightly out of focus, but still love it.

I know I'm biased because I'm her Mum, but isn't she lovely?

If you have made it to here thank you for looking.

Take care all.

  1. gorgeous photos of Charlotte.

and as for this crazy hobby - maybe it's what stops us from becoming crazy... perhaps try mixing it up a bit, different sizes, or even the dreaded (for me)mini-book.

and get one of those albums out and flick through it, you might just be reminded of what you love about scrapbooking...

  5. Your journal looks great! well done for finishing it and achieving something that will be so wonderful to look at even next year. I love all the tags - I've got a bit of a thing for tags too right now. But your album is truly lovely!

I agree with Sarah - get one of the albums or one of those boxes from the back of the cupboard and just browse the layouts reliving the memories and admiring your creativity.

or just take a break for a week or two - you might really miss it and rush to get back to it. that often works for me. good luck!
